2Even as persona stabilization can help, it is not the cure for your blur problem even if I just check and neither the SD 1000 nor the SD 900 have IS … look at the SD1100 IS or SD990 IS with manual controls
What you need is a camera that you can exchange the f/stop and close alacrity manually. You see, the lighting on the stage is such that the supporter can record tape the total concert. That means that there is plenty of light to get excellent shots using a digital camera. You just need to be able to hegemony the camera … P&S cameras attempt to hegemony all the exposures, so can be fooled by nearly any business that interferes with the way the cameras sees the vista.
I shoot about two or three concerts a year. I set my cameras ISO to 1600 and then meter the stage at the start of the at the start set. I meter the vista with the lens one stop down (to give me some depth of field and a modest sharper persona). That assures me that the close alacrity I am using is at smallest amount 1/250th of a second. I then set the mode to manual and use those settings right through the total concert. To right for any slight exposure differences from say the lead guitar to the drummer, I also shoot in RAW. This gives me the essential hegemony if I need it.

4If you just want a camera to take fun pics with and take everyday pics like w/ friends and family and even actions like concerts and such, then you must go with the List Powershot.
But if you're plotting on compelling it to the next amount and take more professional type pics then the Nikon is best here.
The really pro and higher amount cameras are always huge since of the lens, which are made to take really close up pics from the utmost interval. And camera's that are jsut for fun and everyday life are always compact (so its simpler to store and carry nearly). So it really jsut depends on your inclination and what you'll be using it for.
As for the megapixels and the optical zoom – you dont need to agonize about the amount of megapixels really, not unles you're plotting on printing these pics out. If you're ganna just upload your pics to your notebook and place them on sites then a minimum of a 5 megapixel would be splendid, but if you're plotting on printing out some pics, possibly 11 x 14 or even poster size then thats where the megapixels shine. And as for the optical zoom – the more the surpass! Optical zoom lets you zoom in closer to the object without distorting the pixels, it's splendid. never agonize about digital zoom, the less digital zoom a cam has; the surpass! digital zoom will jsut pixelate the picture and the upshot will be very dissatisfying!

5The G10 is such a surpass camera. If you're looking for a snap shot camera, the Powershot SD990 must be fine.
If you're interested in feature photos and learning about photography, the G10 is the way to go. It has the DIGIC IV PC which is in the new DSLR's (50D and XSi). It allows RAW shooting. It gives you options for Aperture Priority, Close Priority and full manual. It also has a hot shoe mount so you can fit outdoor flashes to it (430 EX, 580 EX).
I now shoot with a 40D. If I were vacant looking for a back up / carry nearly camera, I'd buy the G10, no questions questioned.

7Not all of List's compact cameras have those features, but luckily, the SD990 IS has them.
They're called Color Accent and Color Swap and can be establish on pages 93-95 of the User Handbook.
I would advise you to use the 'Save the Original Persona' choice (page 95). This allows you to save your abridged persona but also saves the original persona as well.
If you cannot access Color Swap and Color Accent in the Menu even as using AUTO shooting mode, you will have to turn the Mode dial to M (manual) or P (curriculum AE), instead.

8There are many uncommon views between each additional.
Powershot SD990 Review:
I realize there IS no “exact point and shoot camera”. I infer there can not be a PERFECT small camera due to the small size.
In recent months I have owned TOO many small point and shoot cameras counting..the older List SD950, a Fuji F100FD, a Panasonic TZ5, Even an Olympus 1010 model..and finally bought a new discontinued Fuji F30 off e-bay for surrounded by low light shooting. I am sort of running my own private consumer reports circumstances it seems.
This SD 990IS is possibly the best OVERALL point and Shoot I ever had. But, instead of all the usual glowing explanation List Elphs seem to get..I want to point out a few negatives or inconsistencies with this camera. I frequently bought this camera since of the new function..FACE SELF TIMER seemed like a GREAT and helpful thought as I take more pics with my g/f, or friends, dog, whatever..on timer than whatever business else. Long tale small Face Detection works THE best on this 990 of ANY additional camera I have ever used. It’s near sound INDOORS. But I tend to use this List more OUTDOORS. Problem is is in very bright sunshine like MANY cameras, Face detection has distress. Austerely, often it doe NOT notice a face..and won’t notice the second face any. This is only in very strong sunshine..otherwise Face detection and Face Self timer DOES work and works very well. The lens is OK, but on such an expensive elph I feel there must be less purple fringing THOUGH it’s not BAD..but it IS there…and also at home ISO set above 250 or so tends to get a bit stark. So much so, I set the megapixels to 10..thereby why did I need a 14.7 meg camera??
I have also noted to my eyes this camera is not producing the nearly too vivid insignia of most canons…DEEP greens…Deep blues. But I in fact feel the insignia produced by this camera are perhaps more untreated than nearly any point and shoot I have had so that’s a excellent business. Also a positive..this camera handles blown highlights (Too BRIGHT) and dark darkness surpass than most. To sum up..this IS a really excellent camera with REALLY helpful features WHEN they work, ala face detection in bright sun.
I feel List and just about all the point and shoot cams presently out there are WAY too apprehensive about who’s got the most meagapixels. I’d much MUCH very a camera closer to my OLDER Fuji F30 which BLOWS the doors of this List in low light no enthusiasm) WITH JUST 6 MEGAPIXELS..then a near 15 meagpixel camera with too much noise. The Fuji’s lens alas has THE most purple fringing outdoors of any cam I have tried, hence my search has frenziedly. To sum up..in today’s market..perhaps this 990is may be about the best OVERALL small cam out there..but as I pointed out..if you are very picky..it has a few flaws and I feel it is a bit overpriced…BUT also a VERY excellent camera which will make most people practically pleased. It has a nice metal body..and the array lasts a LONG time..another plus!
Cybershot DSC-T700 Review:
I preordered my camera in red and was a modest disappointed in the saturation of the red since it’s slightly pink. The color images online are pretty close so if you’re not sure, go to a store and check it out at the start. I was only in suspense that it would turn out to be a deeper red.
On a positive note, I like the ease of this camera. I mainly like the vista+ choice that automatically takes an extra picture with compulsory adjustments all through fastidious lighting conditions. This makes your picture a modest more foolproof. The compulsory programming is exceptionally smart and it can admit the lighting conditions and make the appropriate adjustments. I’ve been pleased with my cinema so far just on compulsory and I house of safeguard’t had to make any adjustments yet, but there are a lot of extra features and programs to help you take splendid cinema in the snow, at the beach, etc. The second picture also manages to remove red eyes. I also have a List SD1100 IS which never manages to remove my dog’s red eyes. I have to manually remove the red eye through its software, but it comes out distorted, terrifying, and not completely removed. This Sony T700 sucessfully takes a picture of my dog without red eyes.
On the downside, if you take a picture you like but have red eyes in the picture, the red eye removal function in the camera won’t work since it is only set-up to remove red eyes in the faces
