I am currently using DSL Router with 802.11N network. So is my notebook.
My notebook is using the Wireless-N adapter as the notebook’s build-in wireless adapter comes with 802.11g standard.

I have been looking around to get a wireless internet camera with 802.11N network. The purpose is to maximise the bandwidth for my wireless internet camera without any lagging of the video signal.

However, currently, on the market, it seems that there is no 802.11N standard wireless internet camera available yet as far as I am concerned.

Most of the internet camera comes with wireless or wired R45 network connection and are in 802.11b or 802.11g network.

I have checked with the Dlink,,Linksys and other distributor and find that there is no offer for 802.11N. SInce I needed the wireless internet camera urgently, I have no other alternative but to purchase the wireless internet camera with 802.11g standard.

I have purchased the Linksys WVC200 Wireless -G PTZ internet camera as showed above. To know more about this product,<a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2FClick” target=”_blank”>www.amazon.com%2Fs%3Furl%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps%26field-keywords%3Dlinksys%2B200&tag=howtoincreath-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325″>Click here.

This camera provides both wireless and wired network connection.
It has high quality video, flexible control remotely with Pan, tilt , and zoom.
It works terrific. The price is also quite competitive.

There is not much of video lagging when you control the internet camera remotely from outside of your office provided the camera is connected in the wired network to your router by mean of R45 cable. However, if you connects the internet camera to the router wirelessly, and you try to control the wireless camera remotely outside from office, there seems to be some video lagging problem. The reason why I need to do this is due to my router is not in the same room as the wireless internet camera. Moreover, the room where the wireless camera is doesn’t have the network point (Rj45 socket).

I knew there is no much I could do as there is a limitation of the 802.11g network.
It can only achieve a maximum throughput of 54 Mbytes wirelessly no method how good tuning you can do with the camera resolution and other features.

However, desperately to solve this video lagging’s probem, i checked in the market to see if there is any gadgets that could help to solve this issue.
Then I came cross a product called HomePlug AV Ethernet Adapter from Shiro which eventually solve my problem. It boost up my wireless internet camera signal up to 200 Mbytes which resolve the lagging problem.

This adapter also save you the hassle of the physical network wiring. It can also be use to connect between any network devices ie. printer server, wireless game adapter, wireless camera etc to the router wirelessly.

The adapters work in a pairs.Let assume that the wireless router is in room A and the wireless camera is in room B. In room A, you will connect one end of the adapter1 to the power source.

From the adapter1, link its network connector (using RJ45 cable) to one of your router port. From room B, do the same thing, connect the adapter2 to the power source. From adapter2, link its network connector (using RJ45 cable) to the wireless internet camera.

The adapter is not strictly to be used for router only.Basically, you can connect remotely between any network devices together.

The adapter make use of your in-house power circuit to transforms into a high speed wireless broadband and network backbone for transmission of digital data, voice, audio and video.

In this way, the adapter allows me to connect my internet camera wireless without short chain the bandwidth performance of my DSL network.

The model which I purchase is Shiro HL109E as showed on the right.
I believe there may be some similar product available. However, so far only this product offer the Powerline Networking up to 200Mbps.

Setting up a wireless network to share Internet access, printers, files and more, can be very convenient and cost-effective. Setting up one in your own home or office is even better as you can surf the web anywhere most comfortable for you. Plus, all you need is a router and it’s easier to install than people perceive it to be.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 is not really needed for wireless networking, but it provides the easiest method for networking. It also helps protect against hackers, trojans, worms, and other potential Internet intruders. Here are the four steps in creating your own wireless network:

1. Shop for your wireless equipment.

Of course, wireless networking presupposes the fact that you have a computer system that has wireless network adapter or a built-in networking support hardware and a broadband Internet connection. The main component to shop for is the wireless router, which is the hardware responsible for converting the signals coming from your Internet connection into some form of a wireless broadcast. The network adapter allows the computer to wirelessly connect to the router. (Note: Make sure that you get a wireless router, and not an access point.)

2. Connect the wireless router.

First, you need to locate your cable or DSL modem and unplug it. Next, you must connect your wireless router to your modem (modem must be stay directly connected to the Internet). Do this by plugging one end of a network cable into the modem and plug the other end to the Internet, WAN or WLAN port on the router. After hooking everything up, the computer will automatically connect wirelessly to the router, and the router will consequently send information through your modem to the Internet.

3. Configure the wireless router.

Using another network cable, temporarily connect your computer (through the network adapter) to one of the open network ports on your router (make sure the port is not labelled Internet, WAN or WLAN). When turned on, your computer will automatically connect to the router. Afterwards, open the Internet Explorer on your computer and type in the address in order to configure the router. The address (and password in some cases) varies depending on the brand of your router, so you would need to refer to the instruction manual.

When you reach the router’s configuration page, you would need to configure the following:

- The wireless network name (SSID). This identifies your network so try to choose something unique.

- The Wireless Encryption (WEP)/Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA). These two help protect your wireless network through a passphrase that you will provide. You can make the passphrase unique and long, you don’t need to remember it.

- The administrative password. This password controls your wireless network, so choose one that is unique and you will not forget as this is needed to make changes in your router settings.

After filling these up, be sure that you click Save Settings, Apply, or OK to save the information. Afterwards, you may now disconnect the network cable from the computer.

4. Finally, connect your computers.

This method requires Service Pack 2, so if you don’t have it yet, plug your computer into the router and download and install SP2. If your computer runs on a Windows XP SP2, it should directly notify you that a wireless network has been detected. To connect to the wireless network, follow these steps:

- Right click this wireless network icon found in the lower right corner of the screen then click on View Available Wireless Networks.

- The Wireless Network Connection should appear shortly and you should see the network name you specified previously. If you don’t see it, click Refresh network list at the upper left corner of the window. Once you see the name, click on the Connect button on the lower-right.

- You will then be prompted for the password you entered earlier in the Network key and Confirm network key boxes. Type in this key and click on Connect.

- Windows XP will then show connects the computer to your network and you will be connected shortly.

A Note for Computer Newbies

If you are a computer novice, it is best to purchase an ADSL modem with a built-in wireless router to make wireless networking easier and straightforward.

For integrated ADSL modem-wireless router system, network connection can be done in two simple steps:

1. Connect. You first need to connect the Ethernet cable to the router to the PC, the phone cord from the phone socket to your router, and the power supply.

2. Configure. Once everything is connected, switch the unit on, type the IP address of the router into the web browser, select the connection type and enter the username provided by your Internet service provider.

Equipped with Motion Detection Technology and the most up-to-date DIGIC 4 image processor, this small and lightweight digital camera ensures quality photos with every shot.

The Canon PowerShot SD880 IS has a dimension of 3.69 inches in length, 2.24 inches in height, and 0.93 inches in width. It weighs only 105 grams. Being small and lightweight, you can keep this camera in your bag and even in your pocket so you can take it anywhere you want to go without being burdened by its bulk, which is virtually non-existent. Although this camera is small, the buttons are relatively large so it isn’t a pain accessing the different functions of the SD880 IS. The LCD screen is also quite large being 3 inches in both length and height, which is impressive for a small camera like the SD880 IS.

One of the main reasons why many users find this camera great is because it is very easy to use. The menus are not confusing and frustrating to navigate so even new users will have no trouble accessing the different modes and making the necessary adjustments they want in their shots. The Auto Mode makes shooting photos even easier as it lets the camera make the adjustments on its own, the user will only have to point and shoot. Together with the large LCD screen, the easy-to-navigate menu, and the large buttons, the Canon PowerShot SD880 is by far one of the easier digital cameras to use these days.

Although it is small, it packs quite a wallop when it comes to image quality. The pictures taken are clear and the color details are pleasing to the eye. There are three quality options users can choose from: Normal, Fine and Superfine. The Canon PowerShot SD 880 IS also offers numerous picture effects mode, which a lot of users should find enjoyable. Best of all, the widescreen capability of this camera allows pictures to be taken at an impressive resolution of 3648 x 2048 – a pretty powerful specification for a small camera.

Of course, the SD880 IS is far from being perfect. There have been negative feedbacks about black screen problems by some users. The cause may vary from user to user so no general consensus has been made yet to address this problem.

To sum up, the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS is one of the more impressive digital cameras available in the market targeted to the commercial consumers. It is very easy to handle with a user-friendly interface and an Auto Mode, which makes taking pictures easier. The image quality is also good and the color details accurate, making SD8800 one of the better point-and-shoot cameras out in the market today.

A camera can do so much for you yet it gets taken for granted so often. Something that captures your memories should be cherished, unless it’s of bad quality. Your memories aren’t pixilated, fuzzy, and blurry are they? Well, we’re not talking about the bar in this hypothetical statement, but usually they aren’t. So why on earth would you settle for a less than adequate camera? the Canon Powershot SD990 IS is more than adequate and it also beats it’s predecessors like the Canon Powershot A590IS.

I’ll tell you why; price. Everything is so expensive now, sales taxes are being issued on the internet more often, tons of people are getting laid off, it’s all going to hell. Why buy a camera then, especially when a nice one like the Canon Powershot A590IS is so cheap? Well, simply put, we need to preserve the good memories to help us out of the bad ones. You can’t do that with a $100 dollar, poorly constructed, mini camera. You need an excellent camera and it isn’t even that heavily priced.

For $320 the Canon Powershot SD990IS will deliver amazing digital photographs with fifteen megapixels. FIF-TEEN. That is almost twice as much as the Canon Powershot A590IS, which has 8. Not to mention the face detection, an amazing recent new feature in most cameras. The face detector will even find the faces for you when you put it on self timer, amazing, huh? This camera is a steal in it’s truest and most legal form. Ok, I can hear the skepticism from across the room; “I don’t know what that means! I’m old!”. Ok, ok, I’ll slow it down for you.

The Canon Powershot SD990IS’s highest resolution is at 4416 x 2480, that is the highest resolution this camera can go. Yes, that is very big, larger a normal LCD wide screen computer monitor. More proof? Alright, 4x stabilized digital zoom, meaning, you can take a picture of that pimple on your prepubescent son’s nose and it’ll be in 15 megapixel definition still. Still not convinced? Easy printing and Red Eye correction. The camera will fix red eye for you, and can print the picture at the click of a button.

The Canon Powershot SD990IS is a revolutionary, affordable and entertaining camera. It pushes the envelope with it’s 15 megapixel and face detection. Be a professional photographer with 3 times less the price and make memories today. The Canon Powershot A590IS is good too if you’re really on a budget but I wouldn’t recommend it. Regardless, if you’re going to buy a camera, go Canon.!

I've rounded all the Canon's down to these two, because these seem really good, but I'm leaning towards the Canon PowerShot SD990 IS, but just want some outside opinions. Thanks!
