I haven't got a firewire on my DVD 605. Neither of my Mac's even see the camcorder when I plug in the USB port. I am also confused.
Can anyone help?

I am not sure exactly what you are searching for, "Infrared light attachment for the Sony DCR-DVD505 Camcorder." Is it supposed to attach like a regular flash or is it to be on constantly?

Whatever you may be requesting, try this site:hxxp://www.become.com/research?q=sony+dcr+dvd505+camcorder+Infrared+light You may be able to find what you are looking for here.

This site states that "Other features include and Super NightShot? Infrared System to help record in low light situations" so it sounds like the Infrared light is already built into the system: hxxp://shop.resellerratings.com/PD-28848279/vk-28848279

Hope this helps and good luck with that new camcorder.

Go for the 405 it is well worth the money and the additional price for the 505 is really for the larger LCD screen and higher megapixels, overall that's it. I researched them both for a while and decided on the 405 and love it! Check out this review, it will answer all of your questions.
